Our team is the core of Arrow. Passionate, experienced, and dedicated, we are here to guide, motivate, and support you every step of the way.

Joe Arrowsmith - Founder/Coach

Arrow opened its doors in March 2023, which at the time was a complete leap of faith. Growing up, sports were a significant part of my life; I played semi-pro rugby and had the honor of captaining the England Colleges U21s team. Studying sports in college further fueled my passion for fitness and teamwork, but like many, I took a different path and became an electrician. After years in the trade, I found myself stressed and burnt out, longing for a career that truly aligned with my passions. With encouragement from my girlfriend, Lisa, I took the plunge and opened Arrow—even as she was six months pregnant. There were challenging days and plenty of doubts, but Lisa’s support kept me motivated. Now, two years later, Arrow has become more than just a gym; it’s a thriving community where people come together to challenge themselves, push their limits, and grow stronger. On a personal level, we’re now parents of two kids, Sonny and Ruben, making the journey even more meaningful.

Steve Hoggy - Coach

I've been a coach for 8 years now and spent time coaching 1:1, S&C, Small Group Personal Training and even as an educator of Personal Trainers, Gym Manager of a male only facility and also led a team as a Head Coach too. Leading from the front is where I like to be challenged most and I often try and put myself in a position of discomfort as much as possible. For without challenge, there can be no change! Always looking to develop and sharpen my sword, I take my personal and professional development very seriously. Continuous Professional Development is something I have always held in high regard and I believe every coach should aim to have a plan or a direction for their development if they’re passionate about their craft.

Our Lift sessions are inspired by bodybuilding principles but incorporate a modern twist. These sessions are designed to build strength, muscle, and confidence, focusing on controlled and progressive lifting techniques using barbells, dumbbells, and machines.We have tailored the program to suit all fitness levels, providing expert coaching to ensure proper form and progression. Whether you're aiming to sculpt your physique, improve functional strength, or simply enjoy a good pump, Lift offers the perfect blend of hard work and science-backed training.
